The Board of the Senior Citizens’ Foundation of South Pasadena came to me shortly after creating Instagram and Facebook accounts. They thought they needed a social media manager. What they got someone who sees the big picture and is committed to client success.
I quickly recognized the Foundation needed to educate the community about the existence of the Senior Center and the value it provides for the community. In addition to creating and implementing a social media strategy, I created a content strategy and aligned the Foundation’s messaging and branding across its marketing channels to connect the Foundation to the senior center's audience and potential Foundation donors. The social media strategy resulted in a 130% increase in website traffic in six months and a 531% increase in social media reach.
I also recommended creating an annual event that gives community members a reason to go to the Senior Center and the Foundation the opportunity to honor seniors in the community. The first Senior Champion Awards was held in August 2022 drawing 75 community members to the Senior Center, securing coverage for the Foundation in local papers, and growing the Foundation’s prospect list in advance of its annual appeal for donations.
