Director of Communications, The Better Options Company

In late 2015, the inventor and CEO of The Stair Barrier retained me to build awareness for her newly launched, one-of-a-kind stair gate. I contributed to 450% YoY revenue growth by securing product reviews, media coverage, and brand and influencer collaborations. I received company equity in 2017 and served as VP of Brand Management until the founder merged with Keenz in 2019 and created The Better Options Company. 


I transitioned into a new role, serving as the fractional Director of Communications for The Better Options Company for three and half years. Working as an internal team member and collaborating cross-functionally, I directed the marketing communications strategy to grow three e-commerce brands: Keenz, The Stair Barrier, and Lazy Dog Loungers. I developed all consumer messaging and content (website landing pages, product descriptions, corporate messaging, promotional emails, and social media), landed media placements, evaluated website conversion rates and social media metrics, secured brand partnerships, and directed ad agencies and social media coordinator. 


Key Results:

  

  • Executed product launch campaigns, including 2022 GTM launch of four Keenz Stroller Wagons, resulting in 500% YoY sales growth.
  • Directed integrated marketing campaigns resulting in 600% increase in direct traffic and a 757% increase in social media traffic to the Keenz website.
  • Delivered $15K in savings by leading in-house production of a high-quality brand video (creating storyboard, recruiting filmmaker and models, and providing production support). 
  • Generated over $700K in revenue through influencer collaborations and strategic partnerships.
  • Improved customer response time by 50% by spearheading the implementation of a help desk software system, developing a brand knowledge base, and automating responses to customer inquiries.
  • Elevated brand recognition by landing media coverage in Good Housekeeping, Scary Mommy, Romper, Domino, and other top-tier outlets.

Director PR and Partnerships, Belabumbum

In early 2014, the founders of Belabumbum, a social enterprise manufacturing maternity and nursing apparel through family-owned factories in the Americas, retained me to manage media and influencer relations. Over eight years, I worked directly with the founders and the CTO, and my role grew to encompass media and influencer relations, brand partnerships, editorial strategy, and content development. I created messaging and content for website landing pages, emails, and promotional campaigns for product launches and key selling periods, contributing significantly to the company's success.

  • Generated millions of media impressions by securing coverage in Babylist, Healthline, Pregnancy & Newborn, The Bump, What to Expect, and more.
  • Successfully positioned brand for acquisition by Adore Me in 2019.
  • Created and executed Mother’s Day campaign announcing brand acquisition, growing Belabumbum’s social media following by 10% and customer leads by 12%.
  • Developed written content and graphics for landing pages and blog posts, and designed personalized email drip campaigns, increasing customer LTV 15% within 2 years.
